Currently writing about: the frustrations of graduate school, the inspirations of nature, and the joys of everyday life.
I am a fourth-year Ph.D candidate in Lars Brudvig's lab at Michigan State University. I am in the Plant Biology department and the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and Behavior program. I am a community ecologist, studying prairie restoration ecology and plant community assembly.
Currently enjoying exploring science communication through writing, teaching, speaking. blogging, tweeting, and more.
In addition to my graduate studies, I am an active member of the Plant Biology Graduate Student Organization (after four years as Social Chair), president of the (new!) EEBB Graduate Student Organization, sing soprano in Sistrum, hang out at Crossroads Church, and constantly daydream about one day becoming a master native plant gardener, birdwatcher, yogi, and runner who also has endless free time to read.
